2027 के यूपी चुनाव से पहले सियासी पारा तेज है. मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने संभल में 569 करोड़ रुपये की विकास परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन करते हुए बड़ा बयान दिया. उन्होंने कहा, "अब संभल में तुर्क की तुरकाई नहीं चलेगी, अब वही होगा जो भगवान हरिहर का आदेश होगा". उन्होंने कहा कि डबल इंजन सरकार में अब गरीब, दलित और वंचितों पर अत्याचार नहीं होगा. समाजवादी पार्टी को योगी ने अयोध्या में राम मंदिर चढ़ावा चोरी का मुद्दा याद दिलाया. योगी ने संभल दंगों का जिक्र करते हुए बरेली की मिसाल दी और कहा कि BJP की 9 साल की सरकार में कोई दंगा नहीं हुआ क्योंकि "दंगाई को पता है कीमत क्या चुकानी पड़ेगी". 27 जुलाई को बिजनौर में योगी ने "जिन्ना vs गन्ना" का नारा दिया. "उन्हें जिन्ना पसंद है, हमें गन्ना पसंद है इसलिए गन्ना किसानों का दाम बढ़ाया". इस पर कांग्रेस सांसद इमरान मसूद ने पलटवार किया और कहा "जिन्ना हमारा सबसे बड़ा गुनाहगार है". कुल मिलाकर योगी 2027 के लिए पश्चिमी यूपी में 3 फ्रंट पर काम कर रहे हैं - विकास, कानून व्यवस्था और सांस्कृतिक राष्ट्रवाद. उनकी ये लाइन चुनाव की दिशा तय कर सकती है.
रामपुर विकास प्राधिकरण (RDA) ने जौहर यूनिवर्सिटी की 40 में से 38 इमारतों को अवैध घोषित करते हुए उन्हें ध्वस्त करने (तोड़ने) का नोटिस जारी कर दिया है. इस फैसले के बाद यूनिवर्सिटी में पढ़ रहे हजारों छात्रों का भविष्य दांव पर लग गया है. अपनी पढ़ाई और भविष्य की चिंता को लेकर परेशान छात्र अब यूनिवर्सिटी को बचाने के लिए धरने पर बैठ गए हैं. उनकी मांग है कि इस ध्वस्तीकरण के आदेश को तुरंत रद्द किया जाए. 2027 के यूपी विधानसभा चुनाव से ठीक पहले इस मुद्दे ने सियासी ध्रुवीकरण का रूप ले लिया है. इस विवाद में अब देश के बड़े मुस्लिम संगठन जमीयत उलेमा-ए-हिंद के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष मौलाना सैयद अरशद मदनी की भी एंट्री हो गई है. मदनी का कहना है कि अगर निर्माण में कोई गलती है भी, तो इतनी बड़ी तालीमी (शैक्षणिक) इमारत को गिराना बिल्कुल गलत है. वहीं दूसरी तरफ, सपा सांसद मौलाना मोहिबुल्लाह नदवी और इकरा हसन भी तालीम की दुहाई देकर यूनिवर्सिटी के समर्थन में खड़े दिखाई दे रहे हैं.
